Amitabh Bachchan: We as a race are vulnerable

Amitabh Bachchan: We as a race are vulnerable

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan says human beings are inclined towards numerology, horoscope and other future prediction tactics due to their vulnerability.

"Each moment of life is filled with the unknown...and those that profess they know the unknown, are either messengers from above, which would be hard to believe, or are merely on a commercial spree... problem is we as a race are so vulnerable to what the next holds for us... and these teachings are popular," the 72-year-old posted on his official blog srbachchan.tumblr.com.

The "Paa" actor seemed to ponder over this aspect of life after seeing horoscope coverage in some newspaper Thursday.

"Each magazine, paper, channel has that hour or page or column reserved for the predictions of the day year month, minute...just so many things that suddenly take up our attention and guidance. This mornings press for example had huge coverage of what the year holds for each astrological zodiacal chinese calendar of janam patri fame that told us all in no uncertain terms what to expect each day and month of the new year 2015," he further posted.

Meanwhile, the actor is gearing up for an array of upcoming movies like "Piku", "Wazir" and "Shamitabh".

Amitabh Bachchan denies doing ad film for Narendra Modi

Amitabh Bachchan denies doing ad film for Narendra Modi government

Amitabh Bachchan has clarified that he is not associated with any advertisement film of the Narendra Modi government.

There were reports that the 72-year-old actor would feature in a TV ad which seeks to ask Indians to rise above religion for inclusive development. Bachchan took to Twitter to set the record straight. Bachchan has, however, been the brand ambassador of many government campaigns, including polio eradication, saving the tiger and Swachh India campaign.

Reports of Bachchan featuring in the ad campaign had taken a political colour, with the Congress taking potshots at the government. "Now the crow is imitating the swan's movement. All this camouflaging, all this gimmickry and advertising will not substitute what the government has done on issues like conversion," Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said on Wednesday.

Singhvi was reacting to questions on media reports that while MoS Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi is set to tour areas which have a high minority population, Bachchan has been roped in for an ad film that stresses the need to rise above religion and caste for inclusive development and growth of education. Reports suggested that the advertisement was expected to be out by Republic Day.
