Pink continues performing strong at the Indian box office, taking its collection to approximately Rs 50 crore in 10 days.

Shoojit Sircar's Pink continued its winning streak at the box office over its 2nd week as well, taking its domestic collection to Rs 50 crore nett by the end of day 10.

The movie Pink has completed 10 days at the Indian box office but the film has maintained excellent pace in its business. The courtroom drama witnessed overwhelming earning over its second weekend and it appears to be unstoppable.

After earning Rs 35.91 crore nett by the end of its first week, Pink made wonderful collection on the weekends. The film collected Rs 3.15 crore on Friday and Rs 5.49 crore on Saturday, taking its collection to Rs 44.55 crore nett at the Indian box office. "#Pink has a REMARKABLE 74.29% growth on Sat... All set to cross 50 cr...[Week 2] Fri 3.15 cr, Sat 5.49 cr. Total 44.55 cr. India biz," tweeted Taran Adarsh.

Now early estimates suggest that Pink performed even better on Sunday and collected Rs 6 crore (approximately) on its 10th day, taking its total earning to over Rs 50 crore. Starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu among others, Pink had started on a slow note but its box office collection picked up from day 2 itself. Blessed with positive reviews and strong word of mouth, the movie has kept the momentum up.

With no big releases, the film is likely to keep up the pace at the box office over the weekdays as well. However, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, which will be released on 30 September, is likely to affect its business.

Pink box office collection day 4: Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu film works wonders in India, abroad

Pink, a courtroom drama starring Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu showed a remarkable growth on Sunday. All the credit goes to a strong word of mouth publicity. Shoojit Sircar has yet again lifted a daily occurrence (which could happen to anyone) and elevated it to a cinematic glory. This grainy, gritty story about three young women trapped in a series of unfortunate incidents is compulsorily forcing people to watch the film in theatres.

And all the praise is translating to box office numbers too. Pink has so far collected Rs 21.51 crores in the domestic market.

The film is expected to do well on weekdays also.

The film witnessed an overall growth of 120.83% ( from Friday to Sunday). Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the box office collection of Pink on Twitter. He wrote, “#Pink Fri 4.32 cr, Sat 7.65 cr, Sun 9.54 cr. Total: ₹ 21.51 cr. India biz. EXCELLENT!” He also shared the percentage growth of film, ” #Pink witnesses MASSIVE JUMP on Sun… Sun biz is double of Fri… Sat growth [from Fri]: 77.08%… Sun growth [from Fri]: 120.83%… SUPER!.”

Taran also tweeted that the film is doing well abroad.

“#Pink – OVERSEAS: Went from strength to strength with each passing day. UAE & USA-Canada contributed maximum. Total: $ 978,744 [₹ 6.55 cr].”

Meanwhile, producer Shoojit Sircar got extremely emotional with the kind of appreciation his film was receiving and requested everyone not to ask about the box office collection of the film. Sircar, along with his entire team had a media interacted about the film on Monday (September 19).

“I am thankful to everyone who has liked the film.

We wanted people to see the film before and then talk to them so it would be more interesting to talk about it and because it’s a thriller and we couldn’t talk about it before.

“I cannot imagine the kind of reaction that we have got. One thing I would like to request everyone is that please don’t ask about the box office collection of this film,” Sircar said in an interview to IANS.

“This film is beyond box office collection for me. We don’t care how much the film has earned at the box office. The kind of response we have got so far is overwhelming,” he added.
