My opinion on the film Aarakshan:
ReplyDeleteYes, some incidental scenes have been added for PUBLIC CONSUMPTION but the public seem to miss the BIGGER MESSAGE even though PRAKASH JHA is saying it loud and clear atleast 3 times in the movie.
It was unfortunate to hear most of the audience remarking (after the movie was over) that they expected something about ‘RESERVATION’ but there was nothing about it.
The dialogue of Prabhakar Anand (Amitabh Bachchan) conveys that
1) Just enrolling under RESERVATION is not going to serve the purpose
2) What those under-privileged and below-par-performing students require is BETTER TEACHERS to provide them additional coaching FREE OF CHARGE so they can also compete with the PERFORMERS.
But our POLICITICIANs do not want to do this because a) results will take time to produce results which our POLITICIANs are not willing to wait so long. They want immediate ‘PERSONAL BENEFITS” of RESERVATION immediately from the VOTE-BANKs.
Just providing RESERVATION will end up with GRADUATEs who will be BELOW-PAR in comparison to the graduates of the other countries.
The Policitians have already looted our country of its wealth and now it wants to deplete the brain-power too.
Nothing is done at educational institutes as the lecturers are busy playing one against the other or are busy with milking the syatem at large at the time of admissions or classes. No-one cares for the students except few teachers who are just 10 per cent of the entire teaching community. The younger generation teachers adaot to the situation more quickly & are continuing doing the same. Forget caste, teaching. Nothing matters to these teachers. The honest, sincere ones are targeted. The rest suck up to the system.
