Amitabh Bachchan: The Game Changer Of The Century

Amitabh Bachchan: The Game Changer Of The Century

MUMBAI: Amitabh Bachchan, the Shehenshah of Bollywood, has added a new feather to his proverbial cap. The super stylish 70 year old superstar was the cynosure of all eyes recently, when he was awarded the title of ‘John Walker & Sons Game Changer of the Century’.

Ivan Menezes, Chief Operating Officer, Diageo plc, was the chosen one to honour Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan as the ‘John Walker & Sons Game Changer of the Century’. This award was conferred on Senior Bachchan for his epochal achievements in Mumbai on 16th December.

The Shehenshah of India cinema was felicitated at the prestigious event. Amitabh Bachchan was his usual impeccably stylish self, in a navy blue suit and trademark reading glasses, as he accepted the award from Ivan Menezes.

Recent reports have also revealed how a film, which was supposed to have starred Amitabh Bachchan and the eternally beautiful Rekha, is the inspiration behind Mayank Austen Soofi’s latest book. The film got shelved, but the book behind it, ‘Nobody Can Love You More’ has now released. The Delhi-based author started work on ‘Nobody Can Love You More’, after the rights for an earlier story (which would have featured Amitabh and Rekha) were reportedly sold to Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Mayank Austen Soofi had set his heart on writing a book on Delhi’s red light district GB Road, and spent three long years researching the lives of people living and working in the red-light district. The author has reportedly incorporated popular Bollywood film tracks including ‘Sheila Ki Jawaani’ and ‘Munni Badnaam Hui’ as a backdrop, for the lives of the characters he features in the book.

Bhansali’s unmade film was rumoured to have featured Rani Mukherjee, Shabana Azmi and Anil Kapoor in supporting roles. What a tragic loss, for this film would have really seen a stellar cast, one that the audiences have never seen before in a single frame!
