Megastar Amitabh Bachchan turned Priyanka Chopra’s sparring partner when the actress appeared on the TV show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati 8’ to promote her film Mary Kom. Big B, who’s always been vocal about women empowerment, was glad to host Priyanka Chopra on the hot seat. The actress was part of the special program called ‘Housalebaaz’ (The Valiant) featuring the RED BRIGADE, a group of trained women to take on their oppressors.
Amitabh Bachchan wrote on his blog, “Usha Vishwakarma from Lucknow, UP fought back abuse and formed a RED BRIGADE of young girls, trained them in the art of self defence and wanted to form an Academy by the earnings at KBC to teach and arm those oppressed and suppressed women in the country to give it back to the invader ..
“And Priyanka does just that in her film ‘Mary Kom’ the bio made on the life of this fearless athlete from the North East, Manipur, who won the World Championship Women’s Boxing event 5 times and won a medal for the country at the last Olympics ..”

Priyanka Chopra was accompanied by the Mary Kom director Omung Kumar on ‘KBC 8’. The telecast date of this episode hasn’t been revealed yet, but it should air around the release of Mary Kom which is September 5. ‘KBC 8’ will go on air on August 17. The first episode was shot live in Surat and featured comedian Kapil Sharma as the guest of Amitabh Bachchan.
