My deepest regard and respect to all those that wish my son Abhishek for his birthday

Jalsa , Mumbai                 Feb  5, 2012                   Sun 11 : 30 PM

My deepest regard and respect to all those that wish my son Abhishek for his birthday, and on being informed of this he sends his greetings and acknowledgements too .. Thank you !!
The fingers move faster tonight, and no they are not the dangerous left overs of the after effects of last nights’ film ‘Contagion’. Its the ladies with the smart dresses that come in and pamper your nails and feet as you watch India go down again to the ‘Ozzies in the one dayer of the Tri Series Cricket, down under. I still exercise my vote to our lads, and am certain that these blues, pun not intended, shall soon be replaced by great positive effort. One that shall surprise many.
Prayer and the scriptures that narrate and belong to times of old, of belief and devotion shall always intrigue many non believers. But the extent of the texts and scriptures that one comes across, justifies it all. Somewhere someone devised it all for us, and left us to handle it – with a bit of care no doubt.
Many ask me my faith when I travel abroad and they are unable to connect with Hinduism and its belief. I am not one that works in discrimination, or selective attachments on matters of humanity. But the divisions caused by centuries of living together, not always at peace, will go down in history as that one unchanged factor in the existence of the human. Yet we must respect the odds that exist, follow diktat and show greater feeling towards those that least deserve it.
Oh dear , I tire and tire fast .. I must keep this short and sufficient .. with my love for all …

The journalist is the nations keeper BigB Blog

Jalsa , Mumbai      Feb 4/5 , 2012         Sat/ Sun  12 : 25 AM
Rajdeep Sardesai, owner, chief, boss and main anchor of respected channel CNN IBN, uses the ‘f’ word on twitter, for he says its time to tell all those who say CNN IBN is a ‘paid channel’ to **** off ! Ohooooooo !! That is wild and most unexpected from him. The journalist is the nations keeper. It informs, it debates issues, it exposes wrong, it corrects, it broadcasts to millions. To see them loose tongue their way through a criticism does not behove their stature and dignity in society. When those that look after and care after our morals and rights fall victims of what they preach or propagate, it demonstrates an ailment within them. For the mass that believes and dutifully follows what they say and state, it projects a malaise, which quite undoubtedly negates the purity with which they are believed and followed.
Loose the abuse, but not the respect.
Credibility needs a squeaky clean image. The slightest scar shall damage in eternity. I know what I say. I have been through it and have still never been able to wipe it off clean. When false accusations were directed towards my family and me on Bofors, I had stated in a prominent magazine then, that I ‘have been tarnished for life’. And even though we have proven ourselves clean, in the august portals of the legal systems of several nations including ours, there is that odd reference here and there. Never directly accusatory, but there allegedly.
One is never completely too far away from such entrapments. It could all happen again tomorrow, who knows. We are humans and prone to mistakes and errors. If there is error on my part I would like to believe that I hall admit it and pay the price for fault. But what if not. There can be only one route and that is the route of defense. Being defensive is taken by our ‘ fourth pillars ‘ as a sign of weakness, frailty and guilt. But really, how else does one put forward incorrectness.
Watch any media interaction or press conference and you will realize that the one that questions shall always sound the winner. The one that replies, if it does not adopt servility, should be prepared for adverse representation or comment the next day as a headline. It is the unwritten law of the vocation. Bear it, bend down towards it and take it on the chin. If felled down on the ground through bloody blows, get up if you can, brush the dust off the clothing, smile and stand up erect – to take the next punch !!

We await Abhishek to return from his shoot to wish him his birthday. It is past the midnight. It is now the 5th of Feb and we give him strength and wishes for this new year in his life.
We also send our warmest greetings to Valorie for her birthday. Have a wonderful birthday, may there be happiness and love always and may you enjoy your stay in our country …
Love to all .. and much more

Certain romance in seeing the sun rise from behind the hills or mountains

Jalsa , Mumbai                     Feb  3 ,  2012                      Fri  11: 42 PM

There is a certain romance in seeing the sun rise from behind the hills or mountains. Its the most inspiring picture that has always remained with you through the entire ages right from the time you held the first crayon color pencils in your hand and were asked to scribble and draw whatever came to mind. As the young kindergarden kid, the picture you painted was always of the hills, a semi round circle representing the sun coming out from behind it and the rays it emitted drawn in straight lines out from the circular sun, a tree with thick branches, and a little hut with the odd bird flying somewhere in the distant horizon …
Images like this remain with you until you actually experience it live. This morning at 6 AM that is exactly what one saw. Miles of undulating valleys and hills and from behind one of them the ‘soorya devta’ appearing in all its bright glory, to lighten the world and to give us the energy of the day.
Symbolized mythologically as the giver of knowledge, the God Hanuman once went to the Sun to gain some of it for himself. The Sun answered him by saying it will be difficult to impart knowledge to him since was continuously moving. And Hanuman in all his humility responded, that it was and will be no problem fo him, since he would walk backwards in front of the moving sun, and gain the teachings that the Sun God would impart as he moved along. Symbolical ? Yes the symbolic essence of the story is the need to get up from your night rest and sleep, before the sun rises, in order to be knowledged and worthy .. !!
A bit of a misnomer for todays’s generation I guess, that actually prides itself in following quite the opposite. They follow behind the Sun and I am not sure whether they do have the capacity to gain the knowledge that is required of them …
Simple stories narrated in simple examples went a long way to describe without any issues what society had prescribed for them. Not all are happy with this prescription, for they feel they are not diseased enough to be put on to any kind of medication. Fair enough. But we shall remember it always because it came from our elders.
There is time now to catch up on lost sleep. The schedule in Gujarat involved early morning wake up calls, miles and kilometers of road driving before reaching destinations, working on the shootings, driving back and settling in to a new bed and a new environ each day. It can become disorienting at times. The rapid change in our night halts, at various Circuit Houses and Hotels, the fresh beds would throw us. You get up in the middle of the night and walk to the wrong side of the room thinking it to be the one where you were the previous night. But it is not. Embarrassing to say the least, but there …
The miles and miles of driving on roads straining the back, the sliced fingers after the kite flying, the physical walks on difficult terrain, has all been of the past now. Though I must say it was most enjoyable. But really, Saputara, the hill station needs to be seen during the monsoons when all is green and lush and freshly washed and laundered. I shall soon after this Monsoon !!

In the cricket the Indian Team for the T20 in Australia has finally come to terms with its strength and possibility, and WON the second game today by a huge margin. The write ups in the media that till now had castigated the boys in blue, and left them with no hope at all, barring a few, shall tomorrow morning be full of praise and congratulation. There cannot be any other after having performed so well.
Tomorrow shall be the eve of Abhishek’s English calendar birthday and it shall be wonderful to see him grow another year, with additions and all ..

My love to all ..
