Amitabh Bachchan attends Shatrughan Sinha’s son’s wedding

Salaamat Rahe Dostaana': Amitabh Bachchan attends Shatrughan Sinha’s son’s wedding

That the dynamics of relationships among the stalwarts of the Indian Film Industry keep changing is a thing of common knowledge; more so with the superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha who jointly ruled the silver screen in the 1970s. Having worked together in movies like ‘Kaala Patthar’, ‘Naseeb’, ‘Shaan’ and ‘Dostana’, the relations between Big B and Shotgun, as they are fondly called have always been soured. When asked about the history to such clashes, Shatrughan Sinha had said, “Jawaani thhi, josh thha, ego issues they.

But now the duo seems to have buried the hatchet and mended bridges. Amitabh Bachchan was seen attending Shatrughan Sinha’s son Kussh’s wedding in Mumbai on January 18 and an ecstatic Sonakshi Sinha took to Twitter to thank her ‘Amit Uncle’ and ‘Jaya Aunty’ for gracing the occasion.

She captioned the pictures, “Salaamat rahe dostaana aapka! Thank u @SrBachchan uncle and jaya aunty for the warmth and happiness :)”

In one, Amitabh Bachchan can be seen warmly greeting Shatrughan Sinha.

The second picture shows Sonakshi Sinha flanked by veteran actresses Jaya Bachchan, Hema Malini, Poonam Dhillon and Tina Ambani.

Earlier, the Sinhas had returned the box of sweets sent to them by the Bachchans on the occasion of Abhishek and Aishwarya’s wedding in 2007. “Jab bulaaya nahin toh mitthaai kis baat ki?” Shatrughan Sinha was quoted saying. As a reply to this, Big B had said, “Those who were not invited were not friends in the first place.”

The route back to friendship, however, started when last year when the Bachchans invited the Sinhas over to their grand Diwali bash and Shatrughan Sinha along with wife Poonam, daughter Sonakshi and sons Kussh and Luv attended the party.
