It is confirmed. Bollywood’s perfectionist Aamir Khan and the Shahenshah of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan, will be sharing screen together for the first time in the history of Hindi cinema. The two legendary actors will be teaming up for Yash Raj Films’ new project titled Thugs of Hindostan. The film will be directed by writer-director Vijay Krishna Acharya who has previously directed Dhoom 3 with Aamir. The movie is scheduled to release on Diwali next year. The leading lady of the film will be announced soon.

Aamir Khan maintained silence on the project all these days. And he confirmed the news on Twitter as he had told the IndianExpress.com earlier that he will let everyone know when it happens. Sharing his excitement about the project and the joy of working with his icon, he wrote, “Finally, the moment I’ve been waiting for has come… to work with my icon, Mr. Bachchan! Thanks Adi, Victor, for ‘Thugs of Hindostan’. I’m too thrilled to be working with the actor I have admired all of my life. Shoot starts early next year, and the release has been locked for Diwali 2018. Can’t wait to get started! Fingers crossed.”

While Aamir has worked with Acharya in Dhoom 3, Amitabh has never worked with the director before.

At present, Aamir Khan is busy with his next Dangal, which is based on wrestler Mahavir Phogat’s life and his struggles to make his daughters, Geeta and Babita, wrestlers. Dangal is all set to hit the theatres this Christmas. Big B is currently busy promoting Pink, also starring Taapsee Pannu, Angad Bedi, Kriti Kulhari, Piyush Mishra and Andrea Taring.
