An Academy linked with its Internationl counterpart, the CAE

Jalsa  , Mumbai               Feb  9/10 , 2012             Thu/ Fri  12 : 10 AM

The trip to Gondia this morning was a huge revelation, about this very interesting city. The Minister in the Cabinet, Mr Praful Patel, invited me for the festival to celebrate the anniversary of his late Father, a dynamic personality who brought great emphasis on education and educating the lesser privileged. Stories of such strengths from people who began with the most humble beginnings, to now create and establish a modern city, with some of the most prestigious institutions housed there and prevailing well.

An Academy linked with its Internationl counterpart, the CAE, which trains pilots for the future was indeed an exciting moment. Young students, apart from training to be pilots were also involved in creative thinking. Indigenous designs that took care of solutions for the improvement of living in a complex society.

Where there was nothing at all to see they are now crowded with Technical Institutes and colleges and institutions for Commerce and hopefully medical as well ..

This city runs along another river, which remains dry for most part of the year, and as you cross the river you enter the next State , Madhya Pradesh, the state where Jaya comes from.

Among the several facilities made available to the institues, there are also vocations within for those that wish to go for the armed forces. It is indeed a complete and robust environment and one that deserves to be noticed with respect.

Back from there and straight into medical tests and procedures before the surgery. CT Scans and blood tests and IV injections … the lot ! How science has through decades of research and practicals now developed such immense skills, that it is a joy to hear and see the students of today, conscious, bubbling with excitement, keen to prove a point not just to themselves , but indeed the nation !!

I am now hounded about my surgery and given the licence that the media has, it is best to let them know the situation and not allow manufactured news on the matter go out unless checks and balances are done …

Let me just say that the issue and the problem is a legacy of the past in particular the accident of 1982 and Coolie. Subsequent disturbances have all and shall emanate from it. So I should learn to bear it now, feel the compulsion of the doctors to perform what they need to and leave myself and my body at their mercy.

The CT Scan has brought up some new discoveries, other than what I am going in for, and that is depressing, but if we do not have will to fight it out, you may as well, put your hands up and submit. Taking it all one at a time shall hopefully resolve the issues, but waiting is what the doctors advise.

Tomorrow morning it is back to the Bhojpuri film, which has few scenes unfinished, and soon after into the Hospital. Now the issue really is not the surgery, but the factor of a non signal from the hospital premise, so I wonder how I shall be able to message or even write the blog. But we shall find a way.

When you are able to see your dysfunctional organs on a computer screen, and be told of the ailment, I trip back to the early years, when such immediate discloser was never possible. A code of conduct for medical practitioners still exists I believe, and I have not come across obeying them and not give reason for them to draft, something fresh. There are medical wonders through the theory of the laptop and it is hard to find the good old practice of uncomplicated instruments, in conveying the message ..

I get in to the hospital tomorrow evening and then be prepared to be cut open .. a bit insensitive in its description, but you are the Ef .. and may you live long  ..

Love to you

PS : Reshmi Phillips … we are with you in this hour of trial .. may your Father's soul rest in peace ..

Amitabh Bachchan shot by Daboo Ratnani

Bhojpuri films before and has cast me in a small role

Jalsa , Mumbai                 Feb  8/9 , 2012                  Wed/Thu  1 : 07 AM
A Bhojpuri film shooting again, with Jaya .. a small guest appearance which took me all of today to work on along with the wife .. it is the production of my make up man Deepak Sawant who has been with me for over 30 years !
He has made Bhojpuri films before and has cast me in a small role, so I guess this has now become a constant. But it would be difficult to refuse him simply because of his sincerity and his dedication to my face for the endless number of years he has been with me. A lot, indeed all of the credit for the face goes to him .. he makes me look good and hopefully it pleases people … so there ..
And working with Dinesh the superstar of Bhojpuri films in Bihar or wherever else these films are released, has been an experience too. A simple unassuming person, with great respect and regard for me and for whom the entire Bihar State has a great deal of affection. The means at their disposal is minuscule compared to other Hindi films, but they have a large clientele. Bhojpuri is the local language of the State of Bihar and is most popular as a spoken language .. so on set for the film we speak Bhojpuri. I am not conversant with it, but because of its proximity to Hindi and indeed Awadhi, the local language of Uttar Pradesh, my state of birth, which shares the border with Bihar, most of the dialogues are managed .. the rest of course shall be corrected at the dubbing studio. But yes a joy all the same ..
Tomorrow morning I travel again to Gondia in Maharashtra on the invitation of Mr Praful Patel, his hometown and where he wishes me to see the yearly celebration in the name of his father, who shaped up this small town with a lot of social work, particularly in the field of education. Mr Praful Patel is himself a Minister in the central Government, and has been most affable and connected to us .. it has been a long standing commitment to him and so I go …
There were some medical procedures today as well, for, and this is being disclosed to the Ef at this point of time, a surgery that I shall be undergoing on the 11th morning. I do not wish to talk much on my medical condition, but trust and faith in my FmXt allows me to do so. The surgery they say is not too complicated, but then all doctors say the same as you end up on the operating table, and before long the details and the subsequent anxieties begin to rise. There has been a dosage of injections intravenous that began to day and shall continue for a few days .. a pain in the abdomen has to be investigated tomorrow under a CT Scan and then and only then shall the ok for the surgery be given … so the next few weeks shall be full of nothing else but the hospital and medical bulletins .. boring it may be but it shall be as informative as possible ..
My stomach which has already been the bed of many complicated battles in the past, shall have to entertain this as well. Its a war zone , my body, and one which has been through a great deal and still does. I sometimes lament the fact that I do not have the benefit of a complete and ailment free body structure, and I wonder how wonderful it would be to be normal again. But this was my fate and I shall accept it with a smile. I just feel blessed that despite all the encumbrances the Almighty gave me the courage to keep going has been undiluted. That courage, wrapped as it were, in the love and prayers of well wishers has pulled me through on several occasions and on this one too I solicit similar.
I shall make all possible desperate attempts to connect with all of you through some medium during this period of convalesces, but if for some reason I cannot then you must give me that understanding ..
The day despite all these fresh diagnosis, has ended with some satisfaction at the music studio of Aadesh Shrivastav, where some more music and creative singing has emerged from this rather off key non singer. But the joy of sitting inside an insulated room and with the sounds of various musical attempts, creatively being produced is by itself a great healer …
The doc who looks after me was furious at my late night appearances … but what does one do .. it is this time of the night or the day when there is freedom and solitude to assuage what I must convey or not. But I do understand his concern and shall abide by it ..
Love to all … with a gentle prayer ..

Technically I am through for the day, so far as the Blog

Jalsa , Mumbai                      Feb 7 , 2012                               Tue 11 : 41 PM

Technically I am through for the day, so far as the Blog is concerned, having written on it this morning. But relationships are not technical for me and so I am back like the proverbial bad coin …
Time is of essence always and finding time even more so. It is important to find time for all that concerns you, and when it is planeed in a systematic manner, success in it can be assured. Many ask me what my time management principles are, assuming of course that I should be one that is in the know of such matters. Wrong ! There is no policy or method. It will happen or it shall not happen. It will happen if you are conscious of its importance in your personal discipline. If that is faulty, your time will be at fault at all times ( !! ). One, the other is respect for protocol and the other. If you are conscious of the fact that the other is of importance too, there is little possibility of going wrong. If we shall continue to think of ourselves only and not the other, be of certain guarantee that you will go wrong in many spheres. Respect of the others time shall put your time in place. Many do not ever think so. I am not saying it is of tearing importance to be in such condition, but it would put you in a space where certainty of action could be questioned in time. I would rather question someone else, than be questioned in such matters and so I maintain as well as I can my own justification of time management.

Tomorrow I shoot for my make up mans production of his Bhojpuri film. Jaya and I together for a days work. Deepak my man has been with me for 35 years, and never once missed a single day of not being with me on set. he first started with a BR film and then remained with me since. This is the least that I can do for looking after my face for so long !!

But by far the most thrilling and enlightening moments in the morning have been the repeat listening of ‘Ekla Cholo re .. ‘. There is such a sense of strength, of standing up against any odds, of determination, when one listens to the words. The tune, its composition, its uniqueness, both in its rendition and the value of the perfectly placed words, is the creation of a genius, and one recognizes that, when one has to render them or merely attempt to render them. The quality of great works of words is this – it will always have universality, and it shall reamin immortal for as long a period as one desires. The placement of the correct sounding words, their rendition, and its tune, when not in consonance shall never produce the correct graph required. But when it all works together .. the tears well up … and at times begin to flow unannounced …
My love for all ..

Preeti's liveliness wows 'Yeh Hai Mumbai' director
Preeti Jhangiani is so full of life that she didn't have to pretend to play the role in 'Yeh Hai Mumbai', says director Sneh Tulli. "Preeti is playing a bubbly character, which is not very different from her real life character. She is so sweet and well-behaved that even during breaks she used to ask me if anything was required or if she could go to her vanity," said Tulli.
Tully added: "Preeti in her real life is always full of life and very bubbly, so while shooting she didn't had to pretend."
The actress, who made her Bollywood debut with Yash Raj's 'Mohabbatein', is believed to keep the atmosphere on the sets very delightful.
"As soon as Preeti shows up on the sets, the atmosphere on the sets, and cast and crew light up, there is smile on everyone's face and the environment becomes very relaxed," said a source.
